Solu, a voice assistant that runs on your PC

Solu lives in Eflow's island. Say its name and ask, and it answers with live captions. Its speech recognition and language model run on your own PC, so what your microphone hears isn't sent to a server to be understood.

A live replica with sample content. Click the island to try it yourself.

How it works

  1. 1

Say “Solu”, then ask: for example, “Remind me to call mum at 7”.

  2. 2

Solu answers, with live captions on the island.

  3. 3

It acts on your PC: setting reminders, opening apps, searching, drafting an email, or looking at your screen when you ask it to.

Good to know

  • Anything your microphone hears that wasn't meant for Solu is discarded immediately, never saved or sent.

  • Requests like web searches go where they need to, such as DuckDuckGo or Wikipedia, exactly as if you had typed them.

  • Anything beyond harmless actions shows an approval card first, which you can decline.

  • Screen help only looks when you ask, keeps no copy, and refuses windows that look like a password manager.

  • Switch Solu off in Settings at any time.

Questions

Is Solu always listening?

Only while it is switched on, and only for its name. Everything else it hears is discarded on your PC.

Does Solu need the internet?

Its speech recognition and language model run on your PC, so understanding you doesn't need the internet. Requests like web searches naturally do.

What can Solu do?

Set reminders, open apps, search or look something up, draft an email, and help with what's on your screen when you ask.
