The short version
- Eflow has no account, no sign-in, and no analytics, telemetry or crash reporting of any kind. Nothing about how you use it is collected.
- Three features talk to the internet, and only when you use them: live lyrics, SafeShare, and anything you explicitly ask Solu to look up or open. Each is explained below.
- The phone link works directly between your phone and PC over your own Wi-Fi. It never touches a server.
- Everything else — notifications, reminders, the Shelf, Settings, your voice heard by Solu — stays on your PC, in your own user folder.
Live lyrics
While a song plays, Eflow sends its title and artist to LRCLIB, a public lyrics database, to look up synced lyrics. That is the only information sent — never the audio itself, and never which app is playing it. You can turn this off at Settings → Closed island → Song lyrics, or close the island; either way, nothing is sent. Lyrics that are found are cached on your PC so the same song does not need to be looked up twice.
Sending files with SafeShare
When you send a file from the island's SafeShare tab, Eflow encrypts it on your PC first, then uploads the encrypted result to SafeShare (api.safeshare.co) so the person you are sending it to can download it. SafeShare cannot read the file's contents; the password that unlocks it is never uploaded. What happens to a file once it is on SafeShare's servers — how long it is kept, and what SafeShare itself logs — is covered by SafeShare's own privacy policy, a separate product by the same developer.
Your phone and your PC
The phone link (Phone ↔ PC) connects your phone to your PC directly over your own Wi-Fi network. Files you send either way travel straight between the two devices; they are never uploaded anywhere, and the feature does not work at all without a local network connecting them.
Solu, the voice assistant
Solu's speech recognition and its language model both run on your PC. While Solu is switched on, what your microphone hears is transcribed locally to check whether it was its name; anything that was not meant for Solu is discarded immediately and never saved or sent anywhere.
When you ask Solu to search the web, look something up, open a website, or draft an email, that request goes to wherever it needs to go to do it — for example a search to DuckDuckGo or Wikipedia, or an email opened as a draft in your own signed-in Gmail in your browser — exactly as if you had typed it yourself. Eflow does not read your email or browsing history to do this, and anything beyond harmless actions like these shows you an approval card first, which you can decline.
Screen help ("Solu, look at this") only looks at your screen when you explicitly ask. It keeps no copy of what it saw, and it refuses to look at windows that appear to be a password manager or similar.
Claude Code and Codex
If you connect Claude Code or Codex, Eflow adds one hook entry to that tool's own settings so its permission requests and progress can be shown on the island. Your prompts and the tool's replies go directly between you and Anthropic or OpenAI, exactly as they would without Eflow; Eflow only displays what is happening and lets you approve or reject requests. See Anthropic's and OpenAI's own privacy policies for how they handle that traffic.
What stays on your PC
Notifications, reminders, the Shelf, your Settings, device and screenshot history, and Eflow's log file are all stored locally, under %LOCALAPPDATA%\Eflow. None of it is sent anywhere by Eflow. Uninstalling Eflow does not delete this folder automatically; you can remove it yourself at any time.
Microphone, camera and notifications
Eflow only reads your microphone while Solu is switched on or you use the Test button, and only reads your camera when you test it or ask Solu to look at your screen. The notifications you see on the island are Windows' own notification list, read locally; Eflow does not forward them anywhere. Muting an app in Eflow stops Eflow (and, where possible, Windows) from showing it — it never means the notification is sent anywhere for safekeeping.
This website
This website serves everything it shows, fonts included, from its own address: it loads nothing from Google or any other third party. It sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Like any website, its host receives your IP address in order to deliver the pages.
Children
Eflow is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes
If this changes — a new feature that talks to the internet, for instance — this page is updated to describe it and the date at the top of this page moves. We will not make Eflow send more without saying so here first.
